Hospitalisation - Hospitalisation means an admission to a hospital as an in-patient on the recommendation and under the supervision of a registered medical practitioner.
On hospitalisation as a result of an accident, the Accountholder will qualify for benefits from the first day of the stay, whilst on hospitalisation arising from an illness, a minimum stay of three days will apply before the Accountholder can qualify for cover. This means on a valid claim for hospitalisation from illness, the policy will pay benefits for the full duration of the hospital stay (subject to the minimum 3 days), and if the duration is shorter than 3 days, then no hospitalisation benefits will be payable.
The benefit is paid for a maximum of 180 days for each separate occasion of hospital confinement for a specific condition. Hospitalisation for the same condition, not separated by at least 366 days, is regarded as continuous.
Sum Insured - The levels of Sum Insured available under this policy will differ by the segment within which the Accountholder’s account falls.
