What is our Embedded travel Cover Plan?
Customers that shall open Premier, Prestige and Business accounts with ABZ qualify for automatic travel insurance cover (embedded) and Customer who will buy cover on an optional basis (Standalone). Cover starts from the date the Insured leaves Zambia on a Trip and continues for a maximum period of 45 days. An optional top-up cover is also available.
The insured events for which the Benefits shall become payable and shall include:
- Absa Travel Assistant
- Emergency Medical Expenses
- Personal Accident
- Trip Cancellation and Curtailment
- Baggage Cover
- Personal Money and Loss of Passport
- Travelling and Inconvenience Benefit
- Personal Liability
- Legal Expenses and Advice
- Hijack and Wrongful Detention
Eligibility criteria
- Both Automatic Cover and Optional top-up Cover are available to persons from the age of 3 months to the age of 74 years (inclusive). If Insurer turns 75 during a Trip, limits will be amended to those provided for seniors.
- Automatic Cover to seniors is available from the age of 75 until 84 years of age.
- If insured turns 85 during the trip, He/She will not be covered under this policy from the day, He/She turn 85.
- Permanent Total Disability cover is not available to persons who are 65 years or older at the time of the Accident.
